A typical day at the Fairmount Community Center begins with coffee and rolls, evolves into those that “Walk to the Beat” and those that participatephoto02 in the morning exercise class.

Lunch is served at 11:30, presently on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursday and Fridays, and often a speaker visits to talk about health issues, give financial, Medicare or other insurance information. Staff endeavors to meet whatever questions participants have by inviting professionals to speak on those topics. Socialization is an important part of our program, visiting with old friends and making new ones, playing bingo, selecting a book or magazine from our library, or enjoying a craft class. We recently received a wonderful gift of a Wii, and hope to start a bowling team! Thursdays is our “lunch and photo01bingo” day, lunch is served at 11:30 just like our regular lunch days, and afterwards white elephant bingo begins. We have recently applied for additional grant money to enable us to start preparing our meals on site and increase lunch service to five days per week.
