The NWCDC sponsors several “Special Events” at the Fairmount Community Center throughout the year. Approximately 125 children and their parents visited this year’s annual Christmas Open House. Christmas music, cookies and punch, and a visit with Santa are the highlights, parents are encouraged to bring their own cameras and take as many pictures of their children and Santa as they like. Each child received a stocking full of goodies, and we noticed many families taking group pictures with Santa in front of the tree.

Neighborhood families as usual enjoyed the Annual Family Festival, this year we partnered with St. Ann’s Church, food, drawings and games were a hit. National Night Out Against Crime was well attended by several block watch groups and neighborhood families.
Center Point Hospital assisted Fairmount Community Center in holding our first annual Health Fair this past fall. Well attended by area community members, specialists in many health areas participated. Many of these specialists are scheduled to hold Health Seminars in the coming year.
